EyeCon Fan Encounter: *Exclusive* Pics!

Regina had a blast at EyeCon in Florida last weekend, and shared with me her experience and pics:

Kellan was really amazing; he brought a little boy up on stage like he was a special talk show guest. He really knows how to work a crowd. He was "Mr. Charisma!"

Jerad Anderson from 100 Monkeys was in front of us in Starbucks last night (we had no idea who he was.) He introduced himself & invited us to the after-concert party at Ruby Tuesdays. He was sooo nice and polite.

Their post randomly begins, "So we decided to go to church instead of the Grand Slam Sci-Fi Salute to Twilight Convention. Boy were we wrong to have done that, but luckily we decided to head to LA anyways, right after church..."

Is this even news? Gathegi excited to film his ONE scene- *Spoiler* for those who haven't read New Moon

Is it just me, or is one particular nomad vamp trying to capitalize on his 15 minutes of fame? If you've read New Moon, you know that the nomad, Laurent, has exactly one scene, in a meadow, where he meets his demise.

What's funny is that Collider.com obviously hasn't read the book, and helps feed Gathegi's ego:

Edi was asked if he had a particular New Moon scene that he was looking forward to shooting (note to interviewer- Edi only has ONE scene to film).

He replied: "Yeah. My scene in the meadow, it's like my meadow. It's like my character is no longer conflicted about where his badness lies."

Edi can't believe that he will be promoting New Moon in just a few months time. He also wants to tag along with Stewart and Pattinson to Italy. *crickets*

Mr. Lautner looks dashing in red plaid shoes

Yesterday in Vancouver, Taylor Lautner and Gathegi had dinner together, both were filming this week.

Taylor’s been super busy so far. Shooting almost every day. And training, both on his body and on a bike. Am told he’s a sweet kid: polite, grateful, works hard. His dad has been around the entire time – it’s law to have a guardian at his age on the job.

He’s also very popular among his co-stars in a little brother kind of way. Nikki Reed and Kristen are supposedly super protective, also both intent on helping him, whenever possible, to gain more of the spotlight. Making Taylor famous is almost like a project for them.

And if you’ve been reading in a bottom feeding rag that Kristen and Taylor are flirting on set, or that something romantic is going on… total bullsh-t. Ridiculous. Kristen’s boyfriend Michael Angarano is still in town. They were together yesterday when her day was over.


One question, though- WHO'S dressing this boy? Did he borrow his shoes from Nikki or what?

Twilight Stars Tire of Paps... with good reason, I might add...

The cast of the Twilight Saga had no idea what they were in for last year. Not even D-listers back then, they shot a low-budget cult flick, simply expecting to add one more notch to their list of credits.

Just a scant year later, the entire cast has been plunged into the constant limelight, a frenzy of fans and a franchise spun out of control, offering up everything ranging from candy hearts, to cardboard cutouts, to board games.. anything to satiate rabid fans.

So just how do they feel about the never-ending snap of the flash from stalker paparazzi?

"It's kind of bizarre," says Ashley Greene. "We would walk out of our hotel, and there would be people there taking pictures, and the [headline] would be, like, 'Jackson and Ashley Get Coffee!'

"You know what? They are so much more polite in Canada," Greene observed, comparing her recent interactions. "I think that everyone in Canada is more polite, and the paparazzi are even polite to you. It's kind of bizarre."

Edi Gathegi speculated that a mole may be in their midst, leaking details about the casts' every move. "There is a mole, and the mole is feeding information," Gathegi marveled, remembering recent pictures of the group flying out of Vancouver last week. "[The paparazzi] took pictures of every single one of us leaving the airport! It's like, how are they getting this information?"

"A year later, it's starting to hit me how huge this thing is," Gathegi said of all the attention sure to surround them as they reconvene on the "New Moon" set this week. "You really have to pay attention to what you look like when you leave your house, because you will be up on a blog site within minutes." (Note: guilty as charged. Sorry guys.)

MTV Shows

At Kitson this weekend, three of the vamp actors were caught on film. One photographer was seen driving with his right hand and simultaneously pointing his camera out the window with his left. Another, parked in a red zone, dropped the flatbed portion of his truck, stood on it and quickly snapped photos of Rachelle Lefevre, Kellan Lutz and Greene before speeding off.

Kellan Lutz reveals that they are beginning to take matters into their own hands.

"It's funny. Edi and myself have been messing with them," Kellan Lutz said of recent pictures that include him taking photos of the photographers. "It's great; we have been doing some pranks on them. I can't really share any, but a lot of the pictures are planned."

"There is having your picture taken nicely at an event, and then there is having your picture taken at 5 in the morning in front of Starbucks when you're not even awake," Lefevre explained of the stars' current, increasingly tumultuous relationship with the paparazzi. "I think the truth is that it's unavoidable. If we could cultivate some sort of a mutual respect, that would be ideal. But somehow, that doesn't seem like it's gonna go down."

Note: At our DVD release party this weekend, I just ranted about how protective I feel for Robert Pattinson. I suppose they all were plunged into this chaos, but he particularly has been burdened with becoming a pop icon overnight, which seems to chafe against everything he knows. My heart is truly with him, and I hope the paps leave him alone so he can once again transform into the broody Edward we need to see in New Moon. Leave that darling Britt boy be!

Vampy Romance Rumor Control, and Dr. Cullen Plays Daddy Off-screen

E! Online controls rumors that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are an item. Pure gossip, says the cast.

"I can't even think of those two together at all," says Edi Gathegi (Laurent). "Kristen has a boyfriend! It's onscreen and that's it."

"Their chemistry is fantastic, but no, they are not in a romantic relationship," Ashley Greene said at the Twilight at Midnight DVD launch event at Hollywood's Hot Topic store. "They are good actors [is] basically what it comes down to."

She added, "That's kind of the advantage that we had on Twilight. Everyone has such great chemistry. With as big as cast it was, and as young as a cast it was, we all just got along so fantastically."

Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) is, however, reviving his patriarch role off-screen by fixing Italiano for his co-stars.

"He cooked pasta for all of us," Greene said. "We all came to his house and ate and drank and talked. It's a bizarre thing, because we kind of all looked at each other and were like, 'Sooo, what's your life been like?' It was fun."

Salt Lake City
Hundreds of moms and daughters flocked to the Riverton Wal-Mart in Salt Lake City where Rachelle Lefevre made an appearance.

Lefevre, who plays the evil vampire Victoria, signed autographs and expressed surprise at the turnout. "This is just unbelievable," Lefevre said. "You get better at handling it, your lip doesn't quiver anymore, but the excitement never, ever goes away."

She said she was "flattered" to be chosen to go to Utah, where "Twilight" author Stephanie Meyer hails from. Fans said they "bitten," a term Twilighters use to refer to their rabid attraction to the books and film. "Every girl wants to find her Edward," said one fan.

New York City
Edi Gathegi was at the Penn Plaza Borders store in New York City. The Borders employees held a scavenger hunt and trivia contest for the nearly 500 fans who made the party.

Los Angeles
Ashley Greene was in the Los Angeles making the rounds and surprising fans. Fans filling the mall screamed like crazy as the party got ready to start and got louder when the crowd learned a cast member was going to be there.

Chicago
Nikki Reed showed up at a Hot Topics store in Chicago. Fans report that she was super sweet. She told fans how much she appreciated every one coming out and how she loved her fans. “She looked like she was about to cry! She was absolutely gorgeous and so thankful for everything!” one fan reported.

Hardwicke stopped at the Dallas store about 11:30pm, answered a few questions, and stayed past 1:00 am signing autographs.
