Michael Sheen feels like a Welsh hermit at Buckingham Palace

Better late than never- just found this video of Michael Sheen, Aro in New Moon, who was invited to Buckingham Palace. It's not embeddable, so go to my alter ego, Hello! Magazine gives a great overview of the flick:

http://puntabulous.com/wp-content/MichaelSheen4.jpg
Most of the jokes are aimed at the fussy stuffiness of the Royal Family. And while at first it seems mean spirited as if mocking the Royals, the story is not one sided. While at first it is easy to just say, oh the royals got it all wrong, as the movie progresses you see that they are simply behaving in a way that tradition has dictated they behave. As the Queen tells Blair at one point, “I am behaving with good manners and quiet restraint. Two attributes that the world has long admired us for.”

By the movie's end, you can not help but have respect, even if you feel that she's outdated and anachronistic, for the Queen. Of all the Royals, it is Charles who comes off looking the worst. He is portrayed as weak, desperate for the public's support and even worried that he might be shot in the aftermath of Diana's death.

Both Sheen as Blair and Mirren as the Queen deserve credit for their performances. Neither of them do impersonations so much as they simply embody their respective characters. They look just enough like their subjects, but it is the performances that bring them to life.

Michael Sheen says Aro was an extraordinary character

Michael Sheen spilled deets to Empire in his cheeky English fashion. Read the whole interview at Empire, and check Sheen's tweets to put a little sunshine in your day!

On Aro:

"I'm all done on it; I had a great time," he told us. "It was nice to go in and not be playing the main part, just go in for a few days and play this really really extraordinary character. I remember I was thinking, 'Oh, there's a bit of a Child Catcher here [from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang]; bit of the Blue Meanie from The Yellow Submarine; bit of Olivier from Richard III. There was a bit of all kinds of stuff."

On Chris Weitz:

"It was great to work with Chris Weitz; it was a really funny set, really relaxed. We had a lot of things in common, and hopefully we're going to work together again soon doing something. That might be the thing that I direct, I don’t know yet, you never know."

On working with Rob and Kristen:

"It was quite intimidating being on the set with so many young, beautiful people. That was quite extraordinary being the old, ugly one amongst loads of young, beautiful ones. It's not something I'm used to really. Not because I'm young and beautiful but usually there's loads of old, ugly people around me. It was quite encouraging to see how Robert and Kristin are committed to it, how much they put into it and how serious they are about it. They don't take it lightly at all so that was great to see."

Michael Sheen Tweets Fanning, Who Enjoys her Fish Tacos

Hmmm.. makes me rethink my aversity towards Dakota Fanning, who happens to be a fan of fish tacos. Yum.

Dakota Grabs Lunch & Meets Fans in Vancouver | Dakota Fanning From People: Dakota Fanning took a break from work for a leisurely lunch with her mom and two women at the Cactus Club Café on Robson Street. The group grabbed a booth, and Fanning enjoyed fish tacos with shredded cheese. On her way to the restaurant, the teen star stopped and seemed happy to sign autographs for some fans.

Twi-Cast News and Today's Filming Deets

Twi-Cast News:
Michael Sheen walked around downtown yesterday totally clean shaven, and NOT twittering.

Peter Facinelli visited H&M in the afternoon and stocked up with 5 shopping bags full of gifts for his girls

Kristen Stewart stayed quiet, enjoying her first day off in a while – not including weekends.

Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez were out again last night for dinner, protected by a hulking security guard.

Filming Deets:

Yesterday’s scenes involved the Volturi and Carlisle in a flashback explaining what happens to vampires who break the rules. Then they reject Edward’s request.

Today, Edward is hurled in the air, tossed against a wall when he attempts to protect Bella.

Also on sched: Aro is convinced to release Bella, Edward, and Alice because he sees the vision.

Forget the wolves- The Volturi Descend

What’s up in filming this week? Green screen work that involves driving around in a Porsche. And the cliff diving scene. Bella wants to jump, Edward the apparition asks her not to.

Then Edward takes a phone call, gets very upset and the phone disintegrates in his hand.

And then Edward, Bella, Alice are escorted by some vampires through the underground passage to meet with the others.

Also shooting the scene when they leave and Heidi brings in the victims.

Twits- Who's the Real Deal?

Twilight Lexicon gave readers the 411 on who's the real Twit deal and Twitter deets to look for when deciding who is and who is not an imposter:

The only public Twitter accounts that we can confirm as real are as follows:

Jamie Campbell Bower

Michael Sheen

Be skeptical of supposed real accounts, here’s a couple easy ways tell when they are real or fake:
  • Photos are only of official PR shots
  • Tweets happen while actual filming is taking place. 2/3 of the supposed Rob and Kristen accounts send tweets when they are actually on set.
  • If a star has a real account that they have not disclosed to the public, their Tweets are most likely locked because it would be a PR nightmare otherwise. The likelihood of them friending someone they have never met to see private tweets is slim to none.
  • Check the stars official websites and interviews, and see if they mention their official twitters, MySpaces, Facebooks.
  • Check what accounts they are following. chances are they are not just following the accounts of fellow castmates, they do have other friends.

Michael Sheen Twit Pics

I'm a goof; I twittered Michael Sheen a note calling shenanigans and accusing him of not being the real deal. Turns out I twittered the real deal. Doh.
My apologies, Mr. Sheen!

Former Vamp Michael Sheen transitions from Underworld to New Moon's Aro

Chris Weitz, director of "New Moon," told The Mail that he aggressively, and successfully pursued Michael Sheen to play the part of Aro, leader of the Volturi, in the upcoming flick.

http://media.nt-online.org/files/MichaelSheen_149Xszjdy.jpg

‘Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires,’ he said. ‘Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.’

Sheen, 40, who made his name with uncannily realistic portrayals of well-known figures in Oscar-winning films The Queen, Frost/Nixon and The Damned United, will get his biggest pay cheque yet, a reported £5million, to star in New Moon. (That's pounds, US fans... not dollars)

Sheen also starred in the 2003 vampy flick, Underworld, with Kate Beckinsale, his baby's mama.
