Alex Meraz is a Big, Bad Wolf... IN A MOVIE, people!

"Someone started yelling at me because they didn't like my character," Meraz told us last night at a Carrera Vintage Sunglasses party at the Chateau Marmont hotel.

"I play a bad boy, so she got mad at me," he added. "She said, 'I hate you, Paul!' That was the craziest thing for me—being confused for a character."

"I yelled back at her, 'I love you, too!'" he said.

But Rob still holds the prime sex-symbol status:

"Rob's just kind of soaking it up for everyone," Meraz said. "I'm happy to have just a smidgen of what he's got...I'm not worried about being a sex symbol."

It sounds like Meraz will be around for awhile. He kind of revealed that he may already be signed on to reprise his role in the third Twilight flick. "The next movie we're doing is Eclipse, so I'll wait to read the book a couple weeks before we start doing it, so I can really focus on it," Meraz said. "I don't want to spread myself too thin."

Pick Your Jaw Up Off the Ground: The Werewolves Have Disrobed

These boys run a steamy 108 degrees in New Moon, and just looking at this poster is enough to make my temperature rise...

USA Today reveals:
Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

"It's not pleasant for the actors," says director Chris Weitz. "But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.' "

Alex Meraz dished to E! at the Armani Exchange watch launch party last night.

"He smells like roses! The first time I met him, I was like, 'Dude, you smell fantastic!'" Alex continued. "I don't know where people get this stuff from."

What was Rob's reaction to Alex's opening line?

"He blushed and did his hair thing," Meraz said. "He's comfortable in his own sexuality."

I'm impressed. The more I see of Mr. Meraz clothed and speaking, the more I'm looking forward to watching his acting skills, instead of simply focusing on how hulky his pecs are....

Just before New Moon, Alex took part in the upcoming five-part television series “WE SHALL REMAIN: AMERICAN EXPERIENCE” as a WARRIOR in the episodes “AFTER THE MAYFLOWER” and “TECUMSEH” (episodes 1 & 2 respectively) .


Though his role might be minor, spotting him will be like a game of Where’s Waldo.

Enjoy a dose of history watching this groundbreaking mini-series project that establishes American history through the perspective of the Native American eyes. Each of the episodes focuses on important historical events and concludes with a short contemporary story that links the past to the present.

Alex Meraz: An Intimate Portrait

Celebuzz breaks down seven things you should know about New Moon hottie Alex Meraz, as told by his friend, actor Raoul Trujillo:

HE'S, UM, PRETTY HOT (OKAY, THAT WAS OUR POINT): "The camera loves him," agrees Trujillo. "Everywhere we go people are always saying, 'Good God, who is your friend.'"

HE'S GONE FROM 'NEW WORLD' TO 'NEW MOON': Meraz's first big film was New World as one of the Powhatan core warriors. "That's kind of where he got the bug," says fellow New World cast member Trujillo. "It was an incredible experience."

HE'S A SERIOUS DANCER: Besides break-dancing in Phoenix, AZ, he excels in indigenous and contemporary dancing. Meraz is "an inherent dancer" says Trujillo. who is also a choreographer.

HE CAN KICK SERIOUS VAMPIRE BUTT: Alex has studied mixed martial arts, winning numerous tournaments in karate and the martial art of Capoeira. "He's a pretty lethal martial artist," says Trujillo. "He can kick some serious ass." *Note: Maybe we can see a little fighting action between Alex and Taylor. Now THAT would be some eye-candy!*

THE DUDE WORKS HARD: Nabbing the key role in Twilight was no fluke for the young actor. "If there's anyone I have known in my life that deserves this, it's Alex," says Trujillo. "He's worked his ass off in the time I have known him. He never lets up."

"He's humble," says Trujillo. "And he always showed that he was willing to listen and learn."

"New Moon happened to be there at the right time," says Trujillo. "This is his first big break. And what a break to have. This whole thing is a phenomena."

SORRY LADIES, HE'S MARRIED: Alex is madly in love with his Vietnamese-American wife Kim. They have a child named Somak (Trujillo is the god-parent). Kim was the one who was a true Twilight fan.

"His wife is the one who has read all of those books. And she's the one who said look, you have to got to get into this. This is perfect for you. You're the one."

FINALLY, HE'S RIPPED: "I sometimes have to tell him, 'I hate you, put your shirt on,' " says Trujillo.

"He's slender anyways and he has a body that just is that way. He doesn't even really work out because if he works out he gets huge. He's got these shoulders on him. It's from the martial arts and the break dancing. And he's one of those genetically gifted guy."

"They are going to have to get a trainer for everyone else on set or he is going to stand out like a sore thumb."
