New Moon's Fanning and Bright most seasoned & controversial

Cameron Bright, 16, and Dakota Fanning, 15, cast as siblings Alec and Jane in the second flick of the Twilight Saga, New Moon, share more than just being cast as fellow Volturi members.

Of all the cast members, the young actors are among the most high profile, having been cast in prominent roles in movies such as X-Men, Juno, The Butterfly Effect (Bright) and I am Sam, Taken, and Charlotte’s Web (Fanning).

Both actors share a darker past as well, however- the result of being a child actor in an adult-themed film. Controversy has plagued each of the child stars.

Paramore lets loose of Twilight

Paramore tells MTV that they're not the "house band" for Twilight and it may be time to let others take the reigns. They also tell MTV that Dakota Fanning holds their interest for New Moon:

"I know Dakota Fanning is in it, playing Jane ... that's a really cool character for her to play," Williams said. "It will be perfect because Jane is meant to be very innocent looking and angelic and Dakota Fanning has a lot of bite to her. I like a lot of her movies, and she's much more mature than she is old, you know? There's something about the way she carriers herself."

Michael Sheen Tweets Fanning, Who Enjoys her Fish Tacos

Hmmm.. makes me rethink my aversity towards Dakota Fanning, who happens to be a fan of fish tacos. Yum.

Dakota Grabs Lunch & Meets Fans in Vancouver | Dakota Fanning From People: Dakota Fanning took a break from work for a leisurely lunch with her mom and two women at the Cactus Club Café on Robson Street. The group grabbed a booth, and Fanning enjoyed fish tacos with shredded cheese. On her way to the restaurant, the teen star stopped and seemed happy to sign autographs for some fans.

Fanning and Fans

Karen supplied TwiCrack with these Dakota Fanning fan-pics and commentary:
i got a pic with Dakota 20 minutes ago, i was walking with my friend in downtown vancouver and she was outside of her hotel, we asked her for a pic and said yes, she is so pretty and sweet.
With the Volturi beginning filming, the first New Moon trailer MUST be right around the corner- squeal!

Forget the wolves- The Volturi Descend

What’s up in filming this week? Green screen work that involves driving around in a Porsche. And the cliff diving scene. Bella wants to jump, Edward the apparition asks her not to.

Then Edward takes a phone call, gets very upset and the phone disintegrates in his hand.

And then Edward, Bella, Alice are escorted by some vampires through the underground passage to meet with the others.

Also shooting the scene when they leave and Heidi brings in the victims.

Cameron Bright Makes a Fantastic Mutant

In a newer, juicier interview with The Vancouver Sun today, Cameron Bright spills some *spoiler* deets about his involvement in "New Moon" and has some witty comments about rabid teens:
Cameron Bright.

On meeting Dakota Fanning and his scenes in "New Moon":

He met her at the Critic’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles two years ago.

“She didn’t know who I was, so when I introduce myself and go, ‘Hey, do you remember me?’ she’ll probably say no,” he says.

He should get to know her quickly on the Vancouver set. “In our first scene, I get to kiss her on the cheek.”

Since his scenes are interiors, he won’t be joining her when exterior Volturi sequences are shot in Tuscany, Italy, however.

On his roles, mostly playing a psychotic or mutant child:
* Adam, the sinister clone of a distraught couple’s dead son, opposite Robert De Niro in Godsend
* Sean, a solemn 10-year-old boy claiming to be the reincarnation of the late husband of a fragile New York widow played by Nicole Kidman in Birth.
* A sadistic misfit in The Butterfly Effect
* An abused boy who murders his stepdad in Running Scared
* Maternal mutant babe Milla Jovovich’s gifted charge in Ultraviolet
* A mutant child in X-Men: The Last Stand.

On potential meetings with teen Twilighters:
“If I see a girl wearing a T-shirt with my face on it, I’m turning around and walking the other way,” he says, laughing. “I would not be able to keep a straight face. I’ll run out of the mall.”

Fanning and Stewart and Chevy Chase star in Cutlass

The Twilight Times found this little diddy:
Cutlass, a 16-minute interlude written and directed by Kate Hudson. It stars Kristen Stewart, Virginia Madsen, Dakota Fanning, Kurt Russell, and Chevy Chase, and it’s a devastatingly heartwarming story of the lifelong bond parents share with their children…when they buy stuff. Okay, fine. Perhaps I’m being a tad glib. Here’s the story: Madsen plays a mom whose daughter (Fanning) covets a $1,200 vintage guitar, which reminds her of the time her 1970s self (Stewart) convinced her pops (Russell) to help her buy her very first car from a man named Stan (Chase).

KStew Dishes on Dakota

Dakota Fanning naysayers (myself included), have hope. Kristen does. From Access Hollywood:

“New Moon” will feature new additions — Dakota Fanning has joined the cast of the film, news which Kristen thinks is “awesome.”

“It’s cool to have small characters be really vivid and have them stick out,” she said. “I feel like she’ll do something really interesting with it. It’s a crazy character she plays.”

Dakota is set to play Jane, a pint-sized Italian Volturi vampire.

It's going to be weird to see these two together- vamp style...

Press time for KStew.... again....

Though Kristen Stewart is doing press time for "Adventureland", "New Moon" is the big flick on reporters' minds, and this is what she had to say:

About returning to film New Moon:

"Just picking up where we left off," she tells reporters. "The story, there's like a six month period between when the first one ended and the second one picks up, but nothing's changed. They're at a good solid place in their relationship, whatever. I'm interested to see him leave, because that's what the first one is entirely based on, it's just that abandoned devotion, just the ultimate love story and she's going to be stripped of that. So Bella's actually an interesting character on her own...

On Taylor Lautner:

Lautner's transformation has, apparently, been impressive. "He's jacked," Stewart says with a smile. "It's crazy. I've seen the steady progression. I've seen him a lot since then, so it's not been like... If I had seen Taylor who did 'Twilight' to Taylor who's about to start 'New Moon,' I'd be like... He's an entirely different person physically and he's also, it took him so much time, so he's devoted. He's amped. He's really excited."

On Dakota Fanning as Jane:

"I've always loved what she's done," Stewart says of Fanning. "She's very controlled and poised and in terms of the actual work that she makes, it's always so different and she's gonna rock this. Talk about abandon, she's gonna have to lose herself in this, because it's pretty heavy."

On previously feeling overwhelmed with the "Twilight" phenomenon:

"It's so much easier," she says. "It's just experience. It's just realizing that it's a different world. I'm just more aware. It's easier. It's like I'm not freaked out by it. It's all going to be fine, but at first I was just freaked out."

Danielle Radcliffe, RPattz's former costar of the "Harry Potter" series ranked #1. Radcliffe has a Broadway role in “Equus” and has three “Potter” films yet to be released.

At #2 is Miley Cyrus, 16, thanks to her double-threat career as a musician and actress on Disney’s “Hannah Montana.” The Hannah Montana movie opens in April.

All of the actors were under the age of 19 when the list was compiled.
