Red Carpet RPattz: What Supernatural Creature Would He Play?
"Because we'd both seen The Wrestler, I asked [Pattinson], 'Who would you be afraid to fight in the ring?'" Ahmed recounted. "He said Reese Witherspoon, because he'd be afraid to smack her around too much. Then, since he played a vampire in Twilight, I asked him what other supernatural creature he'd like to play. 'Satan,' he said."
Um. No, Spunk. You're entirely too beautiful to play this wretched creature.
Vancouver- New Major Filming Location for New Moon
A snippet of the Oregon Business Magazine reports:
"Production incentives and wooing by the state film office weren’t enough to convince filmmakers to return for sequel New Moon, set to begin production this spring. Producer Summit Entertainment will relocate to Vancouver, British Columbia, and Italy, VP of publicity Vivian Mayer confirmed through an assistant.
Vince Porter, executive director of the Governor’s Office of Film and Television estimates producers spent $20 million in the state. New Moon, which is reportedly budgeted at $50 million, up from the $37 million Twilight budget, would likely have brought in even more.
Porter says filmmakers were partly concerned that Oregon wouldn’t have the production resources to support two Twilight sequels being made back-to-back. The lower Canadian dollar also made filming in British Columbia cheaper."
Thanks to BellaandEdward for the tip.
Biteward frolicked in my front yard this morning as I was sleeping....
Biteward: "Nom nom nom slurp slurp slurp! That's odd, it looks like it would taste more like cotton candy."
Shawna (My partner in Twi-Crime): "No, Edward! Don't!"
Shawna: I took Edward running this morning...as you can see he is having a little difficulty adjusting to the selection available to his vegetarian lifestyle. CA is much different from Forks.
Biteward: "What have we here?"
Shawna: "That is the flamingo of shame, placed there when someone dodges the early morning workouts."
Biteward: "Looks tasty, although anemic"
Shawna: "No, no, Edward, let's keep going, we'll find you a nice stray cat further down the road."
Side note: Amongst all the frolicking around my flamingo of shame, Edward lost his shoe. *sniff*. For more mischevious adventures, musings, and meetings of closet Twi-Hards, visit Shawna's Facebook group, Twilight Moms.
Paul Weitz to Direct Eclipse, NOT Drew Barrymore?!
Also from Live PR:
"There have been rumors circulating that Drew Barrymore will be directing the third installment of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. These rumors are false."
Due to the New Moon production schedule for director Chris Weitz, his brother and co-owner of "Depth of Field Productions" - Paul Weitz - will be directing Eclipse. Chris Weitz is about to start directing "New Moon" but will still be in post-production when the third film starts shooting.
Just last week, Summit officially announced "Eclipse" will be released in theaters June 10, 2010.
Eclipse will NOT be filmed back-to-back with New Moon, and there will be completely separate casting cycle. Details about future auditions and open casting calls for Eclipse can be found here.
Paul Weitz- IN??
Drew Barrymore- OUT??
New Moon Casting Complete
Live PR reports that New Moon's casting director, Joseph Middleton, has announced that "We are finished with the casting process". No details on the cast list have been released by Summit Entertainment.
Has the Disney entourage jumped on the New Moon bandwagon? Stay tuned....

The Two Sides of Justin Chon (a.k.a Eric Yorkie)
Justin Chon, meet Pillow Biters. My first piece about "Eric Yorkie." Ugh. He wasn't at ALL what I pictured from the book, and he didn't act at ALL how I thought he should. Probably the worst book-to-movie translation of the bunch.
For me it worked, though, because Edward and Jacob work, and really, who else matters? So I give creative license to tweak other random characters as Melissa Rosenburg sees fit, because frankly, she's a goddess in her own right.
That said, Justin Chon, the actor, is an interesting sort, as the O.C. Register recently discovered:
"But Chon hasn't always been a recognizable name and face. In fact, he didn't start acting until after he graduated with a business degree from the University of Southern California.
He enrolled in a two-year acting program, giving himself that amount of time to prove he could make it in the business.
His first role was in a TV series called "Jack & Bobby," where he played a high school kid dressed in a toga.
After that, he worked with Disney, doing a few pilots and TV movies. He wound up working alongside Brenda Wong ("The Secret Life of Zack and Cody") in "Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior," a hit on the Disney Channel. (side note- Uh.Oh. Disney infiltration.)
One role led to another, and then he landed the part in "Crossing Over," which he actually filmed before appearing in "Twilight."
A series of semiconnected immigration stories, "Crossing Over" also stars Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, Jim Sturgess and Summer Bishil, who starred in "Towelhead" last year.
His father was a well-known actor in South Korea when Justin was between 10 and 25 years old. "I grew up watching my dad's black-and-white films," Chon said.
That's why he pursued business in college. He hasn't totally let that go: He co-owns two clothing stores called the Attic, located in Buena Park and San Diego."
Thanks to Twilighters Anonymous for the tip.
More Twilight Tokyo pics. Sigh.

Twilight Filming Trumps Harry Potter for RPattz
"We kept having to reformulate it as it got bigger. You start off thinking you're making an independent movie, with a small or medium size studio. We definitely weren't making it as a blockbuster. There are no big names in it or anything and then more and more hype starts happening."
There will be a lot more pressure for Rob and Kristen during the filming of New Moon. Hope Rob starts getting in his broody place soon!

Rob May Make More Music
My Park Mag reveals that RPattz may take some time to release an independent album.
Rob says, "I don't care if people buy it or not. I'd just like to have it just for myself so I can work with good musicians and stuff."Though he hasn't penned many songs, he would probably attempt some for his album.
Says Rob, "All my friends are musicians in London. They're very talented. My best friend wrote one of the songs on the soundtrack with another friend of mine, this guy Marcus Foster who did Bobby Long.
"I went to school with Marcus. He taught me how to play guitar and stuff. He's an amazing writer and singer and I thought to help somebody out. I've got nothing to lose."
