Fanning + Stewart = BFF?

Variety Magazine reports that Dakota Fanning is in negotiations to play lead singer Cheri Currie in the upcoming flick, "The Runaways."

Kristen Stewart is already booked to play Joan Jett in the movie, a biopic of the '70s all-girl band.

Fanning's age, 15 is of no hinderance to her; Currie was 15 when she became the Runaways lead singer, belting out hard-edged tunes like "Cherry Bomb." Currie became caught up in drugs and a hard-partying lifestyle.

Side note: The article mentions that "(Fanning) is also booked to play a vampire in the 'Twilight'sequel 'New Moon.'" I haven't seen that fact confirmed anywhere, but it sounds like a definite possibility...
