Stephenie Meyer has been nominated for Time's 100 most Influential People of 2009. Up against icons such as Oprah and Sarah Palin, Stephenie's vamp series has earned her a place of honor among the highest mucky-mucks in the land.

PRO: Her emo-vampire series Twilight is the biggest book franchise since Harry Potter, with four titles locked on the best-seller list. Last fall's Twilight film, meanwhile, earned a No. 1 spot at the box office despite a starless cast.

It's nice to see Stephenie Meyer get the credit she deserves. I haven't gotten around to reading the books yet, but as I can see from the reviews I will completely enjoy them.
