Exclusive New Moon preview to premiere during Bandslam

You heard correct: Fandango has confirmed that a special, exclusive version of the New Moon trailer will be featured only before the feature film Bandslam, opening in theaters August 14.

From the IMDB website, the synopsis of the film:

Teenager Will Burton lives in his head, and his head is filled with music. When his mother, Karen Burton, gets a new job in New Jersey, Will starts his junior year at a new school only to find the old cliques still apply, but rock-n-roll rules the scene. Tonner Doll Company was the first collectibles outfit to recognize the potential of the Twilight franchise and (along with some prodding from Dread toy junkies) quickly jumped at the chance to bring this world of supernatural beings into their family of licenses. To date only Edward and Bella have been realized in doll form, but as the Dread crew closed up shop at San Diego Comic-Con, our excellent Tonner friends flagged us down for a sneak preview of what's to come.

Say hello to James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi), and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre, soon to be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard, however)!

"I was stunned by Summit 's decision to recast the role of Victoria for Eclipse, Lefevre said in a statement to RadarOnline.com “I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria . I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules.

My commitment to Barney's Version is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.

I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I've received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit 's surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of Eclipse only the very best."

Summit's Statement

"We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio," the letter begins.

" Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts."

And, oh yes, there are bullet points:

• Ms. Lefevre's representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August. • If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. • It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production. • Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production. • Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story. The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project - which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment - makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

In an interview with Time magazine, Weitz revealed some tidbits about New Moon that you may not know:

• There will be lots of sparkling in the movie.
• Stephenie Meyer will not have a cameo.
• Taylor’s abs are au natural.
• Summit understands that it's Stephenie Meyer's world, and really it's about recreating the experience the reader has, in some kind of faithful manner.
• Kristen is very protective of Taylor.

Los Angeles, CA July 28, 2009 — Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of "Victoria" in the studio's upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio's TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

"We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,"said Erik Feig, Summit's President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. "Rachelle brought "Victoria" to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role."

Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.

THR reports: The studio attributed the move to scheduling conflicts. The actress was recently cast in the indie drama "Barney's Version" opposite Dustin Hoffman, which also has an Aug. 17 start date, only several thousand kilometers east, in Quebec.

MTV reports Twilight Rules Comic Con - is ANYONE surprised by this?

I have to admit that traveling like mad for work last week and then heading to the beach last weekend totally upended my plans for holing up in some quiet space with a bottle of red and my laptop to drool over all the Comic Con coverage online. Despite this, I was not at all surprised that Twilight once again staged a coup at Comic Con, taking over all the excitement and news for the event!

"Yes, I have heard of this fabulous person named Cullenized and her mentor Twilight Moonlighter (though I prefer her original name), and I think they're HOT!"

Are you kidding me? Cutting in line at Comic-Con turns heated

In line at Comic-Con, girls were complaining that people at the front of the line were cutting. Read about the whole altercation HERE (including a video!)- here's a snippet:
Security told them that each person was allowed to hold three spaces in line and that that was a courtesy granted to them. "You are actually loitering," said one of the security guards. The girls countered by saying that if one person can hold three spots, then if one of those people came, then they could also hold three spots, and the line in front of them would increase exponentially.

The girls proceeded to say that it was also "creepy" that some of the women were so adamant about going to a panel to see a teenager (Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob -- apparently the moms were on Team Jacob).

f things had gone differently, Ashley Greene could have been making Twilight movie magic with her ex-boyfriend, former Desperate Housewives star Josh Henderson.

"I talked to Ashley about potentially being the new, college, all-American character that's a vampire in the third one," Henderson told us last night at Xbox's launch of EA Sports' Madden NFL 10 in Santa Monica. "I went for a few auditions, but they went with an Australian kid."

As all Twi fans know, Henderson is referring to the role of Riley in Eclipse, which just went to big-screen newbie Xavier Samuel.

How times have changed for Henderson and Greene. It used to be Greene who was doing the following of Henderson to work...

"I remember when she was brand-new," Henderson said. "She used to come on set with me and be like, 'Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.' So, I'm completely stoked for her that she's doing her own thing…It's completely changed her life."

Chris Weitz confirms soundtrack artists video

Hitflix reports:

Director Chris Weitz has confirmed to HitFix.com that Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Bon Iver will be contributing all-new tracks to the film "Twilight Saga: New Moon."

"I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love," says Weitz. "I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard."

Weitz mentioned that he will be listening to Yorke's new track tomorrow (July 24) and "unless it's sounds of him belching, I think I'll put it in."

The comments came during the "Twilight" sequel cast and crew interviews at Comic-Con in San Diego, the multi-day fest at the Convention Center.

British rock group Band Of Skulls -- who have lately been opening for Spinnerette -- will also be included and Weitz still is "hoping to get Kings Of Leon."

As previously reported, Alexandre Desplat will be scoring the film, the sounds of which Weitz describes as "lush. That's how I wanted the cinematography to be."

Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were at Comic-Con's “New Moon” press conference this morning.

Taylor talked about his fans asking for a couple of snarls. So please don't do that.

"They ask me to growl for them, and I really don't enjoy doing that," says Lautner.

Seems like everyone's fave moment in "Moon” is the breakup scene.

Even Robert, who explained: "I think my breakup scene was my favorite scene. Hopefully it will come off having a few more levels than the relationship in 'Twilight.'

"It's a really interesting little moment. It completely bypasses all the supernatural elements of the story as well."

Taylor’s fave book is "Eclipse," the movie they will shoot next.

“It has lots of action in it. In 'Eclipse,' it's the three of them physically together," Taylor says. "They have to team up to try and be friends to protect her. I'm excited to get going."

But “Moon” is Rob and Kristen’s fave of the "Twilight" series.

"I liked 'New Moon' in terms of how far I could push myself in the series," says Kristen. "I feel after 'New Moon' it's kind of smooth sailing for her. But in 'New Moon,' she's lost. I had to find her again."

" I like the juxtaposition of so many people being there," says Robert. "It's such a hyped character. So many see him as a hero. In 'New Moon,' he's so humbled. He's looking at Bella and is thinking he loves her too much. ... He deliberately starts breaking it. And the final fight sequence at the end, Bella saves Edward, which she does in every book.

For the first clip, Jacob shows Bella how to work the bike, and as she reeves the engine a “ghost” of Edward appears. This spurs her on and she heads down the road passing multiple “ghosts” on her way until she crashes. Jacob rushes to her and worries over the bleeding gash on her forehead. She apologizes for the blood, to which he says, “it’s only blood, Bella,” and removes his shirt so he can use it to clean her up. Bella gives him the once over and tells him he’s kinda beautiful. He then asks her is she maybe bumped her head too hard.

The second scene was of Alice and Bella driving through Volterra surrounded by the people in red robes. Bella darts out of the car and rushes through the crowds toward the clock tower. She sees Edward just as he is opening up his shirt and getting ready to step out into the sun. She darts over though the fountain telling him to stop and then… the footage ends. Great teaser there!

A fellow Examiner recently wrote this:

And if you're an adult and you're into this nonsense, we're looking at a bigger problem. Take, for instance, this site. If you're still here, lemme tell you what that link does. It transports you to a genuinely creepy place called "Twilight Moms." A place for moms who love "Twilight" just as much as their teenage daughters. One can't help but imagine this is some sort of desperate attempt at bonding by a group of middle-aged women who have lost the ability to communicate with the surly, moody, ever-fickle being they call a "teenage daughter." And if it's not, then the alternative is even more depressing: you're an adult who reads a series of vampire romance books marketed to teenage girls, written at their 9th grade reading level. Wow. For the woman who finds all those bodice-ripping romance novels too "Porn-y", there's always "Twilight".

In my search for news worth reporting I found this tasty treasure for you to enjoy from Ted Casablanca at E!Online entitled "Whose Puckers Are More Luscious"

(if this were another fave blog of mine that's got more of an R rating - R for RAWR of course - I might wonder if one of the words in the title was misspelled. . .however, snarky as I am, I cannot in my right mind think about a word like that with young 'un Taylor on the same page here!)

It is well known that, having been Cullenized, I am 100% Team Edward (even though I get really angry with Bella for putting Jake through all that she does). . .so I must vote for Rob in this case. Plus, although Taylor is all bulked up and looking oh so fine, I just can't bring myself to want to kiss him (except on the cheek maybe, or his big. . .shoulder. HELLO, where is your mind?!)

OK! chatted with Christian at the Charlotte Russe 2009 Fall Launch in NYC, and we asked if the thought Edward Cullen had turned into a playboy since skyrocketing to fame over the last year.

“I don’t think so,” says Christian, adding that if has changed, Robert has gone in the opposite direction.

“If anything he’s become more humble and more introverted,” Christian tells OK!.

So what about the romance with Kristen Stewart? Christian teased us with a sort of yes, sort of no on whether the two are together.

I'm not a big Potter fan (that's Harry, not Beatrix - for the record, I am a Beatrix Potter fan and I enjoyed reading all those stories to my kids when they were little, when my brain was in new mommy mush. . .thankfully, I've moved on to spicier choices like Twilight). I mean, ok, I like the movies, they're fine and all (especially Goblet of Fire with the first glimpses of Rob's hotness as Cedric Diggory), and I admire JK Rowling's success story as a writer.

But. . .I cannot define HP as a hottie (and definitely not Ron). Nice guys? Yep. Magical? Gotta give them that. Facing all kinds of scary stuff. . .well, not like scary (yet hot) vampires like James! Nope, can't consider them hot in my book.

Which is why I have to giggle at Emma Watson's commentary on our hearthROB in this article on ETOnline:

"[Pattinson] is a super nice guy," the actress tells ET. "I'm really happy for him that he's gone on to be so uber successful. It's really good."

"Uber successful?" Uber? Seriously, who uses that word? Might be likely they won't use that word at whatever US university Emma plans to attend (as she recently announced). I do like Emma, I thinks she's grown up beautifully and Ron's no match for her LOL

In the 4 times I've read New Moon, I really never thought much of Heidi, the leggy, statuesque and lethal Volturi hunter (or is she really a gatherer?). She wasn't much of a character to me - I never really paid attention to her once all those innocent tourist victims were in the round room for a "visit." (*shudders*) But apparently she's playing a bit bigger part in the movie - or at least the "'actress" playing the role is hoping so, since she's leaving modeling for her big part, as MSN reports from ETOnline:

A new heartthrob has joined the likes of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in the 'Twilight' movie series. Model Noot Seear takes on the role of an irresistible, vampire seductress in 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' and she reveals the challenges of her sexy character.

Emma at Twilight Treasury was at the UK Comic-Con today- here's a snippet of her day- go to her site to check out the rest!

Kelly and I arrived at Earls Court about an hour before advanced entry at 9am, and got into the queue, which was fun in itself, seeing everyone in their various costumes. Quite a few Alice Cullens turned up and one very authentic looking Edward, in full baseball outfit, complete with bouffant!

9am and the floodgates open, as all the advance entry peeps are let into the convention, us included. We headed over to Peter's table, and caught a sneaky look at him signing the first autographs of the day, we also saw Justin Chon and Alex Meraz, but more on that later.

Due to Peter forgetting his passport, he missed Saturday, so they slotted in an extra photo shoot at 9.30 am. We headed over there and got in line for our photo's. I have never been star struck before, I'm generally pretty OK in those kind of situations, but this time.... I was breathless, shaking and had pretty much regressed back into a teenage fangirl blob!

As you may or may not know, myself and Kelly designed the 'Carlisle's Study' section of Peter's official website, and although he has said thank you via Twitter, we hadn't spoken to him directly about what he thought etc etc. So, when it was my turn to go up for the photo, I walked towards him and said " Hi, I designed your site, along with Kelly, who's up next" at which point he turned to look at me (with his piercing eyes - sigh) and said " You designed the site, Carlisle's Study, thank you so much". It was enough for me that he knew what I meant immediately, but then he KISSED me. Needless to say my face will not be washed for the next year! The kiss, although lovely (made my day if truth be told), also made me disintegrate into a pile of wobbly jelly! My carefully practised smile, which had been perfected infront of a mirror, quickly turned into a maniacal grimace and I let out a little sighy giggle type thing which he probably thought was quite hilarious! And then that was that, he said thank you again and then it was over, and I was left shaking for the next half an hour...

Sorry, when I think Riley from Eclipse I always think of my dog Reilly, who is the complete opposite of a cold scary newborn vampire. . .well he is white because he's a Bichon, but he's not cold or newborn (he's 3.. .and even he's older that Taylor Lautner in human years). Anyway. . .

News is out on Twilight Treasury that Riley has been cast for Eclipse, and I have to say, he's a cutie but he sort of looks like Hilary Swank's little brother to me. . .

Samuel, repped by Management 360, Gersh and Shanahan in Australia, has been in series of films down under, including "Newcastle," in which he played a Goth teenager amidst a group of surfers (the movie played Tribeca last year -- though you can bet Netflix will see just a small spike now), the Aussie period drama "September" and the upcoming sci-fi thriller "Road Train." This marks his first U.S. role.

So I'm driving down the road in my van - riding actually, my sis was driving - with my laptop (expecting a client call) and reading aloud the AMAZING MSN Superfan interview with Chris Weitz, which made both my sis and me squeal with delight at the details for New Moon (to which my daughter just rolled her eyes). So much to look forward to and stay alert - so many spoilers to come!

The latest is the Superfan interview with Victoria - I mean, Rachel LeFevre, which dishes some great deets too:

So we get to see you jump from 25 feet up in a tree down to the ground?
There’s leaping off trees to the ground. There’s leaping up in the air from trees to other trees. I was about 40 feet up just hanging out, looking like I was just kind of standing there. There’s a lot of that. And then my stunt double, who spent 5 years with Cirque du Soleil, did some very cool like, backflips and things like that on the wires. Yeah, getting thrown around by werewolves. So you’d be like, in one place one minute and then they pull the…you’re like hooked up to wires…and then they’ll pull the wires and then you get yanked up flying into the air and your body’s folded in half. It’s very cool."

Summit is also proud to present “The Twilight Experience,” a one-night-only special theatrical re-release of global sensation TWILIGHT, featuring an introduction by cast members. Screening tickets are $10 and can only be purchased online at Fandango (http://www.fandango.com/gaslampstadium_aaeet/theaterpage?date=7/23/2009) and picked up at the theater prior to the event. Multiple staggered showings of TWILIGHT will take place at the Pacific Gaslamp 15. Doors open at 5:30 and fans with tickets will be admitted on a first come, first-seated basis. The Pacific Gaslamp 15 is located at 701 5^th Ave., just a few blocks from the Convention Center. Hollywood.com has some great pieces up right now; I've been mesmerized reading it all... first up, 15 things the author learned about the sexy RPattz, considering she didn't get a chance to meet him... Its clear that I love all things Twilight - I've been Cullenized by my obsession, I quote lines from the book and movie in almost every conversation, I own much memorabilia, and the list goes on. However, I know my limitations and I keep a safe distance from the edge of insanity.

Unfortunately, some just can't help themselves and take their obsession too far - like, oh, I don't know, climbing up a 150-foot cliff in La Push and getting stuck!

The Coast Guard had to be called in Tuesday to rescue a 22-year-old man who got stuck on Little James Island near La Push.

Horror Blips asked me to participate in their showdown- Edward Cullen vs. Bill Compton. I have not become a traitor, yet, though sources tell me True Blood is yummy...

We asked several vampire experts their opinion on this hypothetical smack down. Their responses were mixed. Read on to see which of these two powerful playboys they think might be the victor. And all comments are welcome, so feel free to add your own opinions!

Kim, Editor, Twilight Parents Examiner and Twilight Moonlighter
Call me biased; with the moniker Twilight Moonlighter and Twilight Parents Examiner, it’s no surprise that I’d choose Edward Cullen the winner of a fight over “True Blood’s” Bill Compton.

Edward Cullen, throughout the saga, shows an incredible amount of restraint. From avoiding human blood, to his “almost” trysts with Bella, and even his ability to leave Bella in "New Moon" despite the burn for her aching in his heart, Edward has truly harnessed his inner masochism.

Conversely, when he needs to unleash his rage, Edward has the ability to destroy whatever obstacle he needs to in the name of love, honor and integrity. His extraordinary speed and ability to read minds only serves to help his cause.

Edward’s characterization as a “pretty boy” should not deter the reader from accepting his lethal attributes. Though Edward’s chiseled jaw line, sensuous smell and ability to “sparkle” in the sunlight are a source of much criticism, ultimately, his ability to hone into himself makes him the leader of the pack. Oh wait. That’s Jacob.

I feel a strong gravitational pull toward Team Switzerland with Twilight Moonlighter because, I mean, come on. . .just look at these pics from EOnline. HELLO - can someone call Taylor's parents and tell them to control their son's unabashed penchant for showing off his hotness? Its just not right for a BOY (yes, he is still a boy) to look so good in front of so many drooling older women obsessed with Twilight!

Of course this is my very fave shot of Edward as he enters the cafeteria and Bella's all "who's that?" which I can't even believe she can say without stuttering because every time I watch the movie I squeal and clap when he comes through that door (just ask my sister!).

All I can say is come on November because while I'll be armed with the Costco bulk tissues when I head to the theater, I may just be bringing a towel too to mop up all my sweat and drool over seeing Jacob's bareness!

I love the way Stephenie (yes, we are on a first name basis, you know) characterizes Marcus through Bella's eyes in the Saga - always bored - but the latest dish from Christopher Heyerdahl, who will bring Marcus to life on the big screen, is far from boring!

Here's an excerpt on Breaking Dawn from the the actor's SciFiWire.com interview highlighted today on Twilight Treasury:

"Marcus also plays an important role in the fourth Twilight novel, although Heyerdahl hasn't peeked that far ahead yet. "I have left that book alone," he confirms. "I want to leave it until we get closer to the movie. I was talking to Stephenie about it, and she asked if I had read the final book. I said 'Nope, I don't want to read it yet. I want to leave it alone until we get there.' 'Oh, just you wait. You'll love it.' I do know generally what happens, since it is impossible not to find out. And, yes, I've been contracted for the final chapter."

A recent article featured Blue Foundation and their recently revamped song, "Watch You Sleeping." Intrigued as to the roots of the group and the relationship of the lyrics to the movie, I contacted producer/musician Tobias Wilner (a.k.a. Bichi), creator of Blue Foundation for his thoughts.

With the help of friends Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjaerg (vocalist for "Eyes on Fire") and Tatsuki Oshima for the first album, Tobias has found inspiration in enlisting assistance from various favorite musicians in his additional two records. The underground song, “Eyes on Fire,” was an unlikely overnight success and has, to date, garnered nearly nine million hits on their MySpace page.

Though the lyrics of "Eyes on Fire" seem to have been written specifically for Twilight, Tobi reveals otherwise, offering up a great deal of insight into the pained tone of the song:

It really seems like the song was written for the movie, but it had not. It was written a year before in a cold, dark December night in Copenhagen in a very old and trashy house where I used to have my studio by Kirstine and me. I think the music and lyrics speak for itself, but I can tell you, I did the music in the hardest period in my life, struggling with relationship and suicidal thoughts. It was all about stand up against your demons and fight back, be strong. I think that's the beauty about this song. It's about anger and strength to fight back. Be strong and be able to continue to walk through the "desert".

While its true I have a Tinkerbell tatoo on my back, and I've been Cullenized through the Cullenization process, I am thinking going for a "vamp stamp" (as opposed to "tramp stamp" aka tattoo) would be taking my OCD over the edge.

However, never one to judge the insanity of others, its important that I keep you fully informed of any Twilight news I happen upon - so I must share this tidbit reported first by TwiCrack

I like this (sort of) though I don't think it'd be my choice for a vamp stamp if I were going to visit my local ink palace. Surely I'd have to come up with something creative to brand me Cullenized! But be sure to check out the rest of the story because this one is as mild as it gets!

After yesterday's LUSCIOUS Hump Day pics of Rob (below), looks like there's more coming our way from Vanity Fair! Yes, as reported by EOnline, VF will be featuring our hearthROB in an upcoming issue, probably timed for the New Moon release in November. Even more jaw porn for us to pin up on our walls (well, at lease that's what I do in my home office).

Last December the Twilight cast had a sexy shoot in VF, so what I wonder is, if VF can make little miss innocent Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) look a little too grown up, what on earth could they do to make Rob more tempting? After his appearance in GQ, I'm pretty sure I saw newstands bursting into flames and women everywhere swooning and forgetting how to breathe. (I think I stop breathing everytime I see Rob looking at me with those bedroom eyes lying across my bed in that white tshirt. . .I mean, at least I dream about him lying across my bed like that, which would explain the gasping that woke me up in the middle of the night)
